6 Blog Posts That Changed My Perspective On Life

input-equals-output

It wasn’t until I was 26 that a friend of mine told me about a book called “The 4 Hour Workweek” by Tim Ferriss. I decided to pick up a copy and started reading only to find that I had trouble putting it down. When I finished reading the book, I decided to make some changes in my life regarding travel and living a life that I wanted. I did some research online and decided to buy a ticket to Costa Rica from Denver for just $375 and went. Little did I know that I had opened Pandora’s Travel Box.

Although the 4 Hour Workweek is more about living remotely and working more efficiently with the leverage of the internet, it helped to change my perspective on a number of things. I began to look for more ways to do more of what I wanted.  Along the way I am always finding more blog posts that continue to push me further towards a better future by further changing the way I see the world but here’s the growing list of blog posts that have had a serious impact on my life.

Blog Posts That Changed My Life

The most important question of your life” by Mark Mason

More doing, less promoting: The key to creating great work” by Paul Jarvis – My older brother shared this post one day on Facebook and I was floored by what Paul had to say. I have a background in internet marketing and all too often I get caught up in marketing and marketing some more that I forget to actually produce quality content and be awesome. So, stop marketing how awesome you are and just be more awesome.

12 startups in 12 months” by Klint Flinley

50 rules for Dads of Daughters” by Michael Mitchell – Although I am not a father, this post spoke to me on more of emotional level about how I can be a better man in general and show the woman in my life how she is important to me and how I can be the man that she needs me to be.  Maybe one day if I ever have daughter of my own, this post is one of many that I will reference often.

50 Ways to make Money from Things You Own” by Chandra Kalle – The shared economy is allowing more people in more places to make money on their own time and in my experience, most people tell me that they can’t travel as often as they would like is because they lack two very important things that are actually the same thing…time and money. This article is a great resource for helping people to better understand how they can make money with things that they already have and to do it on their own time. It’s a win win.

One Piece of Content Can Change Your Life” by Gary Vaynerchuk – Gary V’s book “Crush It: How to cash in on your passion” was one of the first books I read about working on your passions as a career choice. It might not be for everyone but the idea of working in a field that you are passionate about and using the internet to do so is really appealed to me and it is actually part of the reason that I have this blog. This article really spoke to me because it shows me that even a single piece of content can change the course of my life and as long as I keep at it and never stop, I can have a future that I want.

There are probably a bunch more but these blog posts but these are the only ones that I bookmarked and added to this post but check back from time to time to see what new posts have impacted the way that I think and live.
